OPTI can function in two different modes. Knowing the mode you are using is key to troubleshooting OPTI-related support tickets.
Batch Mode
- Releases are optimized in OPTI-Glass once.
- Patterns on the release cannot change once the release is in OPTI-Break.
Dynamic Mode
- Releases are initially optimized in OPTI-Glass.
- Releases can re-optimize on-the-fly in OPTI-Break.
- Reject and fillers can be dynamically added to the optimizations.
- The original Opti-Glass optimization will not be "locked in", and the patterns/yield can change.
How to determine which mode you are using
In OPTI-Glass, go to Settings - Machines. Select your machine and then select the Optimization tab. Under Dynamic Optimizer, if Enable is checked then you are in Dynamic Mode, otherwise you are in Batch Mode.
If the Dynamic settings are grayed out in the above Optimization tab, then contact FeneTech to get dynamic mode enabled for your company. The OPTI-Break stations must also be enabled for Dynamic via activation codes. Contact FeneTech to receive the activation codes.
