Invoice Due Dates
How Payment Terms Drive Automatic Due Date Calculation
Product: FeneVision CORE Module: Invoice Maintenance Audience: Accounting, Order Entry Users
Overview
FeneVision CORE automatically calculates invoice due dates based on the payment Terms configured in the system. This eliminates manual date entry errors and ensures your accounts receivable aging is always accurate. Users can also manually override or delete a calculated due date when needed.
How It Works
The due date is derived from the Terms setting on the customer or invoice. When an invoice is generated, FeneVision applies the terms formula to the invoice date and populates the Due Date field automatically. If the terms allow for multiple installments, more than one due date can exist on a single invoice. These calculated dates can be reviewed and, if necessary, manually adjusted inside Invoice Entry.
Step by Step
- Manually enter or override a due date: Double click the invoice line to open it, then type a new date directly in the Due Date field.
- Delete a due date: Within Invoice Entry, highlight the Due Date field and press Delete on the keyboard.
- Restore calculated date: After deleting, select Refresh to restore the originally calculated due date.
- Modify one date within multiple due dates: Double click inside the Due Date field to open the multi-date editor, click the specific date to change, edit it, and select OK.
Key Rules / Things to Know
- Due dates are driven by the Terms configuration — if no terms are assigned, no date is auto-calculated.
- Deleting a due date is reversible; selecting Refresh restores the system-calculated value.
- When multiple due dates exist on one invoice, each must be edited individually via the double-click editor.
- Changes to Terms on the customer record do not retroactively update posted invoices.
