Packing Notes
Attaching Special Packing Instructions to Routes or Customers
Product: FeneVision CORE Module: Setup / Shipping Audience: Shipping Coordinators
Overview
Packing Notes in FeneVision provide a global library of pre-defined packing instructions that can be attached to routes or customers. Common examples include fragile handling instructions, stacking restrictions, or special labelling requirements. Managing them centrally ensures consistent language on all packing slips.
How It Works
The Packing Notes list is maintained in Setup >> Shipping >> Packing Notes. Each entry is a text description of a packing instruction. Once the global list is populated, individual notes can be selected and attached to a customer record or a specific route, so that they automatically appear on packing documentation without requiring manual entry each time.
Step by Step
- Add a packing note: Navigate to Setup >> Shipping >> Packing Notes. Click the next blank field, type the packing note description, and select OK.
- Delete a packing note: Highlight the row and press the Delete key on the keyboard.
- Assign to a route or customer: Open the route or customer record, navigate to the packing notes section, and select the applicable note(s) from the global list.
Key Rules / Things to Know
- Packing Notes are global — any change to the global list immediately affects all records referencing that note.
- Notes appear on packing slips and Route Builder packing documentation when properly assigned.
