Item Pull Back
Removing a Line Item From a Released Production Schedule
Product: FeneVision CORE Module: Order Entry Audience: Order Entry Users, Production Schedulers
Overview
Item Pull Back lets you remove a line item from a released production schedule and return it to an Available status—without canceling the entire order. This is essential when a customer changes their mind after an order has been released to the shop floor, or when a product change is needed before manufacturing begins.
How It Works
From the Order Schedule Info screen (accessed via the schedule status icon in Order Entry), you select which line items to pull back and confirm the action. FeneVision updates the item status back to Available and, depending on how far into production the item is, removes it from FeneVision Opti or flags it for manual removal. BI unit history is updated to reflect the Pulled Back status.
Step by Step
- Step 1: Open the order in Order Entry.
- Step 2: Click the schedule status icon to the left of the Order Status box to open the Order Schedule Info screen. (Top right of the screen)
- Step 3: Select the line item(s) you want to pull back by checking their checkboxes.
- Step 4: Click the Pull Back button. If the item has been optimized in Opti, a warning prompt appears—review it carefully.
- Step 5: If prompted, type the word pullback in the confirmation field and click OK to confirm.
- Step 6: Click Exit. The item status returns to Available and BI unit history is updated to Pulled Back.
Key Rules / Things to Know
- Pull Back is only available if the order is not invoiced, closed, or locked.
- The line item must not be batched on any unreleased schedules (finalized or not).
- If the item has been optimized in Opti but the optimisation has not been cleared, you must type 'pullback' to confirm—this may result in loss of production data.
- If lineal machine files have been released, re-releasing the pulled-back item will restart the optimisation process.
- Items that have shipped (fully or partially) cannot be pulled back.
- In BI, pulled-back items show a unit status of Pulled Back rather than Scheduled or Released.
